What's Holding Your Life Together?

Sep 16, 2026    Chip Edens

Modern life is strange.

We can text almost anyone, read almost anything, and fill every square inch of our calendars – and still feel a little lost. And the fear sets in…

How do I hold it together?

The question changes as we age. And then they keep returning…

Where do I belong?

What am I supposed to do with my life?

How do I care for everyone I love without completely losing myself?

Who am I now that so much has changed?

Jesus gives us this wonderfully simple invitation:

Abide in me as I abide in you. (John 15:4)

Stay close. Put down roots.

For centuries, people of faith have discovered that prayer, worship, scripture, rest, community, generosity, and service slowly do something to us. They do not make us perfect. Thank God.

They help us become steadier, more connected, and more able to love.

And science increasingly affirms what spiritual wisdom has known for a long time – we need belonging, purpose, hope, strong relationships, and people who help us carry what is too heavy to carry by ourselves.

Join me this Sunday as we kick off the year and explore what it means to be rooted in Christ and your spiritual home – and how deeper roots can help us find greater stability, resilience, and hope.

I’m in this with you.

With love and prayers,

Chip
